MadLabs: Igniting Curiosity and Redefining Science Education

Bangalore, India – MadLabs, a trailblazing hub of scientific innovation and entertainment, is revolutionizing how people of all ages experience the magic of science. Created by the visionary alumni of IISc, IIM, and IIT, MadLabs is more than just a lab—it’s a celebration of creativity, exploration, and discovery.

A Dream Laboratory Born from Expertise and Vision

MadLabs was founded by highly accomplished education scientists who have dedicated their careers to making science accessible and engaging. Drawing on their expertise and passion, the founders have designed a space where theoretical knowledge meets hands-on application. “MadLabs is a space to reconnect with your inner child, a place to explore, question, and dream,” said Mrinal Shah, one of the founders.

MadLabs recently hosted an unforgettable event featuring Shadow Theatre performances and hands-on demonstrations, merging education and entertainment seamlessly. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Padma Bhushan Professor P. Balaram, former Director of IISc, and Padma Shri Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar, former Chairman of ISRO.

“MadLabs has turned science into a joyous adventure, making it accessible and inspiring for children, adults, and even grandparents,” noted Professor Balaram.

Dr. Kiran Kumar highlighted the importance of learning through experience. “MadLabs combines curiosity and discovery to create an environment where science comes alive. It’s a space for all ages to explore and learn,” he remarked.

From Space Exploration to Everyday Curiosity

Dr. Kiran Kumar also shed light on India’s advancements in space exploration, emphasizing the significance of the SpaDeX satellite program. “SpaDeX is a remarkable step forward, enabling us to assemble objects in space—a crucial milestone for missions to the Moon and beyond,” he explained, connecting the spirit of innovation at MadLabs with broader technological progress.

A Place for Families to Learn and Bond

MadLabs welcomes visitors of all ages, offering an array of activities designed to inspire curiosity and collaboration. From robotics workshops to shadow theatre sessions, the lab provides an interactive experience that fosters a love for science. “We want people to leave with more questions than answers, with their curiosity awakened,” Shah added.

Future Plans to Broaden the Impact

MadLabs has ambitious plans for the future, including collaborations with schools and communities to expand its reach. “Our goal is to create a movement where science becomes an integral part of everyday life, sparking innovation and exploration,” said Shah.
