Samiullah Khan Honored ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಟ್ಟಾಳು – ‘Kannada Hero Award’ by Kannada Sangharsha Samiti

In recognition of outstanding services in the field of Kannada language and culture, Samiullah Khan was awarded the Kannada Katalu Award by Kannada Sangharsha Samiti

Bangalore: On the occasion of the 44th foundation day of Kannada Sangharsha Samithi, many important religious and cultural personalities participated in Kannada Sahitya Parishad and discussed the promotion of Kannada language and culture in the state and promotion of brotherhood among the people.

On this occasion, tributes were paid to prominent personality late S.K. Karim Khan and late Rehman Khan who had contributed immensely to the Kannada Language and Culture.

On this occasion, Samiullah Khan, president of Akhila Karnataka Muhammadiyara Kannada Vedike, was honored with the "Kannada Katalu", ‘Kannada Hero Award’ in recognition of his outstanding services to the Kannada language and culture. The award was honoured by Shri Veerabhadra Chinmala Deshikendra Mahaswami. Similarly, Dr. Kumari was honored with the "Naseema Kannadati" award.

On this occasion, Samiullah Khan said that in times where efforts are being made to spread hatred in the country, we have a great responsibility to spread love through our words and actions.

Samiullah Khan said that Akhila Karnataka Muhammadiyara Kannada Vedike had its origins in the days when Dr. Rajkumar was abducted and at that time a grand protest rally was organized by Muhammadiyara Kandra Vedike, Memorandum. It was submitted that early and concrete steps should be taken by the government towards the release of Dr. Rajkumar.

Prominent Kannada Activist Late. Rehman Khan, a well-known Kannada intellectual, was also remembered on this occasion and tributes were paid to him. It was said about the late Rehman Khan that his unforgettable sacrifices in the Kannada language movement in the state remained.

The program was presided over by prominent author, film maker Professor Bargur Ramachandraappa, Former Chairman, Kannada Development Authority.
