Bangalore: On the occasion of the completion of 75 years of India's independence, 'Amrit Mahotsav' was celebrated at Taha Mosque in Bangalore city, in which Kargil Soldier Captain Naveen Nagappa participated. Captain Naveen Nagappa was grievously injured in a blast during the Kargil War and still has its impact on both of his legs.

Speaking on the occasion, Captain Naveen Nagappa, who lost both legs in a bomb blast during the Kargil War, said that it is imperative that we teach our future generations, not just about the Independence Struggle but also about the other wars that India fought against Pakistan and that the sacrifices of our freedom fighters should be remembered.

On this occasion, well-known writer and poet Azam Shahid said that freedom in the country will be realized in the true sense only when freedom is universal, there should be space for equality and tolerance among the common people, irrespective of religion, caste, gender and race.

A number of non-Muslim personalities also participated in this meeting held in Masjid Taha and in their short speeches, they said that there is a dire need to promote the Ganga-Juamuni civilization that has been going on for centuries in the country, that undoubtedly, countless scholars have sacrificed their lives. offered material sacrifices, but in the present era few sectarian powers are willing to forget them.

Captain Naveen Nagappa graced as the Chief Guest in the event , prominent writer-poet Azam Shahid, President of Muhammadiyara Kannada Vedike Samiullah Khan, Shah Jahan, Secretary of Masjid Taha Committee were present on the occasion.
